The balgha is a traditional Moroccan shoe that grew into a cultural icon over the centuries for its trademark style as a loafer-or-mule.
Our travels around Morocco inspired us to design and craft a balgha where it was born, with the traditional techniques and handmade care that keep it authentic to its history and culture.
We’ve partnered with an artisan collective of shoemakers in Marrakesh to create our first batch of balghas. We view it as an investment – the first of many – in a creative community and culture that we’re proud to share with you.
The Battuta Balgha
Battuta balghas are handmade in Marrakesh with a supple leather that will shape and age beautifully.
You can wear your balghas with the back up for a tailored feel or folded down for a more casual look.
